Wow..Heidi. So great to hear from you and for the kind words. You and I apprear on parallel paths. I find that some of the most rewarding work for me was in the non-profit or cause-based marketing environments so that's where I'm headed. Keep me posted on what you're doing and if I can help in any way, based on my skills and experience, be sure to reach out.

You'll find my profile on LinkedIn here....read through it and what's mine is yours. Let's definitely stay connected. I sincerely appreciate your post. Came at a really good time!
Best,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Interesting blog. I tripped over it via pledgie, who is now following me on twitter. I am the mirror image of you, I think. My job ended in June as well, but I am loving the job hunt. So many opportunities have come my way. I am not naive to believe that it is all about attitude...but it can't hurt.

I have excitedly dived into this process. I am struggling to keep up with all of the new possibilities coming my way.

If you are not on LinkedIn, I can't encourage you strongly enough to get on there! It is an amazing place that has completely transformed the job hunt. If you are, I would love to connect!

Just as a sample, I have begun blogging to highlight exciting nonprofit organizations. I am about to begin blogging for Career Rocketeer on my job hunt process. I am going to be interviewed by an international organization that highlights nonprofits because they liked my blog on nonprofits. I have spoken to networking groups. And next week I will be speaking to a 17 year old networking group that has 150 members and 100 who regularly show up at meetings. They want to help me find a job, so I will introduce myself and talk about what I am looking for and they will use their connections to help me find something.

This is just some of what has been happening. Sure, there are some difficult things going on. I am a single mom with 3 kids...I understand the big issues about unemployment. But if viewed as an opportunity, it just might be the best one anyone has ever had.

I will happily follow your blog. I really enjoy your style because you are very real. Your struggles are very familiar. I look forward to reading more.

Sincerely,
Heidi in Chicago
