I did it…I finally became my own Internet property with MarkEvertz.com. Not out of conceit or delusions of grandeur. Just to make sure I would never have to buy myself back from some squatter if something particularly newsworthy or valuable happens in my life in the years ahead.

Oh….and to include this:

YES! YES! YES! I’ve been trying add BLIP.FM for about 4 months to no avail . Now, for better or worse, you can listen to my most recently shared music on the site and post notes on anything you’re listening to that I might like.

Music is my chosen social medium of the moment…anything that furthers my audio addiction. Plus…I’m a firm believer that you’ll get to know me better (and I will get to know you better) by music that moves us both.

That’s all for now…

EXCEPT: I would also appreciate your thoughts on evolving the Cockeyed Pessimist moniker for this here forum, despite its personal shout-out to the esteem-shattering lazy eye I had briefly in junior high school and an obvious attempt at wordplay humor.

Maybe something more encapsulating of an emerging optimism on the heels of the inauguration of President Obama (Grrrrrr…Fight back pessimism…most expensive inauguration despite slumping economy…fight the urge…)

Top 3 Obama-influenced blog names for MarkEvertz.com — for now:

The Reluctant Optimist
A sunnier disposition

December 2008

Hey…for those expecting some angst ridden and pessimistic music favorites after my recent posts, sorry for the pump fake. Those cuts will come later.

As I sat down to write this, I thought, what kind of out of touch, bitter a-hole does that during the holiday season? Not me.

Change of Heart for the Holidays

So…At the risk of showing optimism despite ample evidence to the contrary, I wanted to share the music that is helping me keep a clear head and a smile on my face this holiday season. Unlike Oprah, and her Holiday Mix Tape however, I don’t have the music licensing connections or technical sophistication to avoid getting sued if I gave these to you for free…so I’ll find the music. I hope there are a few that at least get you to say, What the Hell!?!?! If you want Oprah’s cuts, you can right-click on the song titles and hit “save as” to grab the .mp3s.

Happy Holidays to you and yours and let’s remain cautiously optimistic about ‘09 and pessimistic  about the fact that there will be people who will try to take advantage. Let’s expose and shame them together, for the sake of all that is good and right in the world.

Fa-la-la-la-la…..

Cheers,

Ev
